Prophecynewswatch is one of hundreds, if not thousands of prophecy oriented "Christian" websites. Like so many others, this web presence is false on so many levels it's difficult to know where to start. One gets a clue on the front page as they advertise the latest book from Rapture Cultist Chuck Missler.
Anyone paying attention to news in the last decade in prophecy circles already knows anything put out by Missler should not be promoted because the man is a liar, a deceiver, and a proven plagiarist. To this date, he refuses to answer the charges posted by the LA Times for his theft of Dr. Edwin Yamauchi's book FOES FROM THE NORTHERN FRONTIER. A summary of the LA Time's exposé may be found in the book The Rapture Cult by James Lloyd (details may be found in the catalog at Christianmedianetwork.com).
The Prophecynewswatch group perpetuates the now decades long misidentification of Magog as Russia when the scholars that are the most knowledgeable on such matters have clearly demonstrated the successors to the Magogians never traveled as far North as Russia. Indeed, I have broadcast eyewitness testimony from a Christian missionary that lived in Soviet Georgia for 10 years that says the Georgians believe they are the land of Gog -- Georgia.
Since Georgia is now a US ally, that doesn't work for the Israel-first Jewish supremacists of this Rapture Cult website.
They routinely misidentify Russia as the ROSH spoke of in the Hebrew text, which any good Lexicon will show means Chief -- not Russia. An excellent source on this is the aforementioned Dr Yamauchi, the very man whose material is being stolen by the liars that keep propagating the Russia fraud.
There is no such thing as 'the revived Roman Empire.' There is not one Bible verse connecting Daniel 2 to the latter days as posited in this garbage. These morons can't see the forest for the trees. For instance, in a recent issue of the site's prophecy newsletter, they wrote "Daniel, Chapter 2, presents the dream of Babylon's King Nebuchadnezzar, which provides the basis for our understanding of history's final system of government."
There is nothing in this entire chapter that states the "toes" of the statue occur in the end times. Not one time does the text even say the "toes" of Nebuchadnezzar's statue are kings. Nowhere in any verse of the Bible does it say the kingdoms in Daniel 7 are the same kingdoms of Daniel 2.
Incredibly, the original reason the "Bible teachers" (I call them the frauds) said the 'Revived Roman Empire' would exist in the first place was the view that the European Community was approaching 10 members -- which they arbitrarily connected with the 10 toes. You might as well say the 10 toes represent the 10 Commandments -- there's just as much Scriptural support for that view -- i.e. NONE.
These stupid dumb dogs (Isaiah's language in 56:10) can't even count as they claim the EU, which now has well over 20 members, is the 10 king alliance -- an alliance that is never mentioned in the entire chapter, the same chapter that never says the toes are even kings! (their words -- "The EU would seem to be a leading candidate but the number 10 will have to somehow be reconciled.") That's code for 'our interpretation doesn't fit the Scripture, but we're hoping it will someday.' It's a gigantic fraud, and unfortunately it does no good to confront this cult as they simply slough it off and say 'he's got a bad attitude!'
My "attitude" is disgust with LIARS and false prophets that never stop to review the SCRIPTURAL facts. People are dying now, and we Americans are helping them to die as our military escapades are at least partially driven by this completely false theology -- a system of misinformation that has now penetrated the White House. In short, this is very important.
This ridiculous website goes on to assign a prophecy of JESUS CHRIST to the Antichrist! They write "It is from this Revived Roman Empire that the man we call the Antichrist emerges." Since there is no verse teaching the 'Revived Roman Empire' even exists, and there is no verse showing 10 kings in modern Europe will rise to power to become the Beast kingdom, the statement is patently false, to say nothing of the fact that there is not verse that directly indicates the Antichrist has anything to do with Rome.
"And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate" (Dan. 9:26-27)
They then write "This all-encompassing prophecy foretells plainly that the final world ruler, Antichrist, will rise out of the Roman Empire. Jerusalem and the Temple were destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD under the leadership of Roman General Titus. The future Roman leader ("the prince that shall come") is prophesied to be a dictator like no other in history."
This SCRIPTURE never mentions the Antichrist. It never says "the prince that shall come" is the Antichrist. In fact, they mention Titus, who, WHAT A COINCIDENCE, was the Prince of Rome. An even bigger coincidence is, he was the "Prince of the people that shall come" (the Romans). How then do they apply the verse to the Antichrist? Obviously, Titus was not the Antichrist. It gets even worse. These crazies then push the fiction that the Antichrist will "confirm the covenant with many..." -- a verse that they say refers to the Antichrist who supposedly makes a treaty with the Jews. Since when does "many" mean the Jews? Since when is a "covenant" a treaty? And how would this fictional "Roman" Antichrist "confirm" a "treaty" that doesn't exist?
What an irony then that in the NEW TESTAMENT, the SCRIPTURES actually say that JESUS CHRIST is the one that confirms the covenant! What covenant? The covenant between God and man! Try Galatians 3:17:
"And this I say, the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ......"
So the Bible specifically says JESUS is the one that "confirms" the covenant, the Bible never mentions the Antichrist in Daniel's 9th chapter where the covenant is said to be confirmed, no treaty with the Jews is ever mentioned, and no last day's verse exists in Daniel Chapters 2 and 9! Indeed, no last day's verse exists anywhere in the 9th chapter where the covenant is confirmed! The whole thing is smoke and mirrors.
If you want to understand how these FALSE PROPHETS can misread the 70 weeks and identify Jesus as the Antichrist, just read Daniel 9:24. It summarizes what occurs during the 70 weeks. It says '70 Weeks are determined to [accomplish the following] -- "to finish the transgression" etc. Just take each phrase and say 'who does this, the Antichrist, or Jesus Christ?'
Who "brings in everlasting righteousness?" -- Jesus. Who "makes an end of sins?" -- Jesus. Who makes "reconciliation for iniquity?" -- Jesus. The Antichrist is never mentioned at all. Thus, these liars are now taking precious prophetic truth that speaks of our SAVIOUR, and applying it to the Antichrist. People have gone to hell for less.
To a certain extent, these serious charges may be brought against many, many Internet "prophecy" groups, but in the present case, this drivel is making inroads into the underground church, and thus, demands examination. All who would even forward their material (or this material for that matter) have a responsibility. You cannot propagate the output of those that are LIARS and DECEIVERS without severe spiritual consequences.
After the original essay on this site was placed online, we received a couple of overtures from parties that like the site that sought to defend it. The first person gave us the 'Dude, why can't we just get along as brothers' bovine scatology. This apparently young man clearly has not been discipled in Scripture at the site, as he just couldn't understand how we could fail to want to have fellowship with the double-minded dupes at prophecynewswatch.
How sad that so many consider themselves your 'brother' when they refuse to recognize the reprobate nature of evangelical Christendom today -- but not to worry their defenders say -- they're not 'dogmatic' about their false belief structure. One look at the front page tells you it's just the same old Jewish supremacism that has deceived so many so-called believers in the Gospel.
After the first attempt at 'can't we just talk about this like Christian brothers' Dragonspeak attempt was deflected, the moderator of the forum at the site emailed and sought to initiate another dialog -- yet another attempt at seeking to start a dialog to consensus.
This person was just another sad soul tossed about with every wind of doctrine like the previous unfortunate, as he claimed not to believe in the things we criticized about the site -- yet he apparently feels comfortable in fellowshipping with those who do! ("what fellowship does light have with darkness" comes to mind.)
In short, the site is a prophecy free-for-all as apparently no-one there knows anything with enough certainty to be dogmatic. "I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm...."
A better verse is "Study to show thyself approved" -- and then choose sides, because one of the 'Christian' sides in this clash is going to hell for propagating false doctrine -- and from where we sit, the side that's hell-bound is epitomized by those that defend the Prophecy News Watch update.
