The Cutting Edge - aka David Bay |
The Cutting Edge is another Rapture Cult website that is making substantial inroads into Remnant circles. In what could be dubbed the Second Wave, this site represents a rather dangerous form of Rapturism in that such "ministries" have adapted themselves so that they appear more like the true Remnant ministries that have had some success in the last few years in drawing people out of the Whore of Babylon. A writer named David Bay is the driving force behind the site. In his literary output, he borrows heavily from those outside the mainstream in that he writes on 'flashy' subjects such as UFO's, the Nephilim, the New World Order, and so forth. With this topical subject matter, few suspect that he is just as mainstream as say, Hal Lindsey. Worse yet, Bay is clearly willing to hide the Cult belief system that underpins his ministry in order to draw in more adherents. Deceivers of this breed are crafty and have learned to use the Internet as an outreach to pick off those that are in crucial transition from the Cult. The classic definition of a tare, such look like the genuine article, but when you strip away the appealing topical subject matter, the theology is the same Antichrist teaching taught by the Rapture Cult for over a century. For starters, David Bay still cites from New Age Bibles, as is evidenced by this citation from earlier this year taken from The Cutting Edge website: "2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 -- In this section of Scripture, Paul addresses the misconception among the church at Thessalonica that the Day of the Lord had already occurred. Paul emphatically states, 'Let no one deceive...you". Jesus stated the same warning against deception in Matthew 24:4; He has just been asked by His disciples what THE sign of the End of the Age would be. Jesus gave them many more signs than just one, but His first response was, 'Be careful that no one misleads you, deceiving you and leading you into error'. Jesus repeats this warning twice more, in verses 11 and 24." (emphasis ours) We're not sure if that 'be careful that no one misleads you' is from the New Lesbian Version (NLV) or not, but it's certainly not Scripture. Mr. Bay has been sent Emails seeking to query him on his apostasy, but since he never responds, we're not in a position to ask him from what cesspool he fished out that particular denizen of the deep. Typical Tactics From The Cult In the same recent article on UFO's where Bay is butchering II Thessalonians 2, he indicates that this passage is connected to Matthew 24 where Christ warns that the deception could conceivably take in "the very elect" -- which Bay refers to as "God's chosen ones." This is completely inconsistent with Cult theology in that the Rapture Cult uniformly teaches that the "elect" are Jews -- an issue Bay has deftly ducked in this particular essay. By simply referring to 'God's chosen ones,' he doesn't tip his hand that he belongs to the Jewish Supremacist Cult that teaches the Jews are the elect and all the good Christians (presumably those that read The Cutting Edge) will be raptured before any bad things happen. Continuing on, Bay then provides us with this gem: "Further, since the word, 'Christ' refers to the political office of Messiah, this passage means that we should expect unparalleled political deception at the End of the Age." The word 'Christ' refers to the political office of Messiah?!! Apparently lacking in basic study skills, this Bovine Scatology (BS) causes us to be embarrassed for him -- as apparently the man is too stupid to know that he should be embarrassed when making statements this ignorant. Perhaps next Tammuz day someone will send this deceiver a Strong's Concordance. Regarding the word "Christ," almost everyone knows the term means anointed -- but since David has a point to make, why should his storytelling be bound by such mundane restraints as scholarship, accuracy, and -- oh yeah, the truth. Next, we get another dose of linguistic legerdemain where the Cutting Edge cuts out the truth and stitches in this apostasy: "This is the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians. We have spent considerable time exposing the great and unparalleled apostasy in which the majority of Christian denominations are participating today. We are at this point in world history today, fulfilling this part of this prophecy. Paul continues, '...and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, ...' Of course, this man of lawlessness is the Biblical Anti-Christ, as predicted in Daniel 9:27 and confirmed by Jesus in Matthew 24:15." The great irony in all of this should be readily apparent. Mr. Bay is braying about the apostasy, even as he continues to be a promulgator of it! In this crucial passage above, he cites a verse dealing with Jesus Christ in Daniel that he tells us refers to the Antichrist! Finally, the mask that David Bay has been wearing so successfully, is coming off. Herein is how we identify The Cutting Edge as just another Cult site as Bay continues to pitch the fiction of a 7 year treaty, the so called 'Revived Roman Empire,' the pre-tribulation rapture, the soon to arrive Anti-Christ with his pig stepping into the sanctuary, ad nauseum. The Same Old Same Old... For those that possess the Dusty Cobweb Version (DCV) of the Bible, the verse he mentions in Daniel 9, which he says refers to "the Biblical Anti-Christ," is the oft repeated passage dealing with the one that confirms the covenant: "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week; and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." (Daniel 9:27). Basic New Testament theology makes it abundantly plain that Jesus Christ is the one that "confirms the covenant" between God and Israel. Romans tells us that "....Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision [Israel] for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers" (Romans 15:8). This passage continues on, and states that the confirmation of the covenant that Jesus Christ performs is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy that promises "For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name....And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust." (Romans 15:9,12). Jesus Christ not only confirms the covenant, thereby opening the door to the calling of the Gentiles, Daniel's prophecy predicts that Christ's redemptive work on the cross will "cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease." (Daniel 9:27). In the New Testament, the book of Hebrews says that "...this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God" (Hebrews 10:12). The fundamental fact that God brought an end to the Old Testament sacrificial system through the one time sacrifice of His only begotten son was known to the Christian church for 18 centuries until the Rapture Cult leavened the church with their pernicious lies. Almost any Biblical commentary written over a century ago will attest to this crucial understanding. The prophecy of Daniel's 70 Weeks continues when it ominously informs us that Jesus Christ, the one that causes the sacrifice to cease, will also cause Jerusalem to become "desolate" because of "the overspreading of abominations." History records that the Jews sought to continue the practice of animal sacrifice for the sins of Israel even though Jesus Christ had already laid down His precious life for His people. This was indeed an abomination. Because of the depth of this abomination (read 'overspreading'), Christ fulfilled the prophecy in the Gospels where it tells us the result of those wicked men's refusal to honor God's mandates was said to be that God "was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city." (Matt 22:7). This occurred in the Roman siege that terminated the Israelite stewardship of Jerusalem in 70 AD. David Bay's earlier statement even misquotes Scripture. He refers to "the biblical Anti-Christ [that was] predicted in Daniel 9:27 and confirmed by Jesus in Matthew 24:15..." However, when we examine the verse in Matthew, the verse never mentions the Antichrist. This verse, recording the words of Jesus Christ, states to the believers "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (who readeth, let him understand:)...." Once again, this verse never mentions the Antichrist. The key to understanding this verse is to learn the truth about "the holy place" in which the believer is told to stand when they "see the abomination of desolation." Once again, David Bay needs to read the book of Hebrews as a quick reversal of the false doctrine he's been spreading might at least lower the temperature in his designated portion of the Lake of Fire -- a place he is about to become very familiar with. Hebrews tells us about that holy place that Jesus told us to "stand" in when we see these events come to pass: "....Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." (Hebrew 9:11,12). We learn in Ephesians that the believers in Jesus Christ are presently seated in the heavenlies with Jesus Christ: "God, who is rich in mercy...hath quickened us together with Christ...And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus..." (Ephesians 2:6). Thus, when Christ tells us that when we see the Abomination of Desolation -- which He does not define in the passage -- we are to "stand in the holy place." The Word of God tells us that this holy place is in Christ, where he has ascended. Ephesians continues this thought when it says your shield is in Christ "....that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore..." (Ephesians 6:14). In short, when we see these things, the true believers are to "stand" firm in Christ, who is NOW in "the holy place." What Temple Is That? Amazingly, false prophets like David Bay, tell us that Jesus was actually saying 'when you see a statue of the Antichrist in a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem, that is the Abomination of Desolation.' Obviously, the verse in Matthew never mentions a statue. The Rapture Cult fantasy has this 'statue' being placed in the portion of the ancient design for the Jewish temple known as "the holy place." Of course, this so-called holy place is not only in a temple that does not exist, it is in a temple that no verse in Scripture even says will be rebuilt. This is a temple that Bay tells us will supposedly be built by the Antichrist under the authority of a treaty the Bible never mentions -- and incredibly, the Apostle Paul apparently doesn't understand this is to be the Antichrist's temple, because He calls it "the temple of God!" In this 'virtual temple,' which will be built by Jews that reject Jesus Christ, Cultists like David Bay tell us there will be a "holy place." How a temple built by unbelievers, then turned over to the Antichrist can be considered "holy" is never explained by the Cult. The fiction gets almost surreal as the apostate teacher David Bay turns to another New Age Bible Version in order to insert a huge amount of Rapture Cult tradition into the Scriptures themselves: "Revelation 13:13, "He performs great signs (startling miracles)...because of the miracles which he is allowed to perform...he deceives those who inhabit the earth commanding them to erect a statue in the likeness of the beast..." This quotation comes from a dreadful modern version of the Bible called the Amplified Version (AMP), and includes a rendering that is so distorted that if hell didn't exist, the LORD would have to create it just to have an appropriate place to lodge translators that commit such abominations. For the record, in this passage Revelation uses the Greek word eikon -- which means image, copy, or representation. There is no descriptive term in the manuscripts, such as "graven" that would make this an 'engraved image,' i.e. a statue. The word in its most generic application simply means a "likeness" or a "representation." For example, in II Corinthians, the same Greek word is used when Paul wrote about "the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image [eikon] of God...." (II Corinthians 4:4). According to David Bay's usage of the term, this would mean that Jesus was not actually a man, he was a statue. This point illustrates just how deep the current departure from the truth actually runs. To look at this aspect of the subject from another angle, it may be said that the Rapture Cult fabrication has become so deeply ingrained in Anglo-American religious culture that a substantial market exists for copyrighted modern translations that will translate the scriptures so they read the way the public wants them to read. This is prostitution of the worst kind -- and Cultists like David Bay will be held accountable as will all the other false prophets Of pretribulationism. When We Can't Find Scripture We Just Make It Up! David Bay actually goes beyond the apostate Bibles and Rapture Cult dogma as he prophesies the Antichrist will be an Eastern mystic known as Lord Maitreya. This name is associated with a Buddhist oriented occultic group called Share International run by one Benjamin Creme. The well heeled group made a splash about 20 years ago with a series of full page ads in major newspapers announcing that "the Christ is now here." The truth is, no evidence has ever been demonstrated that a person named Maitreya even exists -- let alone that such an elusive figure would be able to meld the world's religious traditions into a one world spiritual order. Yet David Bay just presses on with his false prognostications -- completely devoid of any scriptural or sensible evidence that is contrary to his false predictions: "Who is this selected man? Maitreya the Christ, the Biblical Anti-Christ!!" Although there is no doubt that the Maitreya cult is in league with seducing spirits, there is no linkage to the data base that should be required in order to make such a pronouncement. That data base is the Holy Bible, and the link between what is known about Maitreya and the office of Antichrist is non-existent. Indeed, there isn't even a connecting thread to this lunacy in the New Crazy Version (NCV) that David Bay apparently consults on a regular basis. Although there is scriptural evidence that we will likely see some form of angelic activity clothed in the garb of extraterrestrial intervention during the end times, Bay has created a fictional linkage between the Indian mystic and the alleged aliens: "These Aliens will accomplish all this by raising up a man who will be imbued with a special level of consciousness, who can lead the world into that same level of consciousness. Of course, this man will be Maitreya the Christ, the Anti-Christ." How David Bay comes by this knowledge is a secret -- just as the true author of the Rapture Cult delusion remains hidden away. Once again, while there is a fairly broad body of Biblical Scripture detailing various facets of the Beast (the term the Antichrist does not occur in scripture), most of these passages deal with his political acumen and his rise to power in the context of logistical descriptions of his political power base (for a detailed look at the various scriptural parameters of the office of the Beast, see Waiting For Leviathan by the present author). One of the great challenges of all false prophets is to come up with something that's new in order to attract enough market share in order for a "ministry" like the Cutting Edge to survive commercially. Since the fields are full of false prophets, this can be a daunting task. However, once he's left the shaky platform of whorehouse translations, Bay is now free to predict just about anything with his ever-changing rearrangement of the end times scenario: "WHEN THE ANTI-CHRIST STAGES HIS APPEARANCE, HE WILL CLAIM TO BE AN ASCENDED MASTER FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION, I.E., AN ALIEN BEING." Presumably, this little tidbit of David Bay's prophetic potpourri comes from "another dimension" of scripture. To put it another way, he apparently derived this from II Illusions Chapter 6. However, David quickly reverts to the more tried and true Rapture Cult scenario involving a 7 year treaty with the Jews: "The Anti-Christ will deceive the entire unsaved population of the world. He will proceed to confirm the peace treaty with Israel and the Great Tribulation will begin." We have previously noted how the concept of a 7 year treaty and a 7 year tribulation has no scriptural authority whatsoever. This is, unfortunately, standard fare for the Cult as they have wrapped this elaborate 'Left Behind' fiction around the thing they all desire the very most: the pre-tribulation rapture. More Rapture Claptrap For those that don't own a Jewish Supremacist Version (JSV) of the scriptures, we'll let you in on the fact that this clever Jewish fable (Titus 1:4) is the candy coating that lured the modern millions of so-called "believers" into swallowing the poison pill produced by David Bay and countless others. As previously noted, because many are reading the real Bible -- the King James Version (KJV) -- and have learned that Jesus Christ will come back exactly when He said He would, "immediately after the tribulation," David Bay has been hiding his true Rapture Cult status deep in the dark recesses of his ministry documentation. He has even ducked direct questions on the subject -- evidently because he has become sensitive to the loss of fiscal support among those that know better. However, he finally comes clean in an obscure part of his website: "We Believe.....the living in Him shall be given glorified bodies without tasting death and shall be caught up in the air before the Seventieth Week of Daniel; also that the Great Tribulation, which follows the Rapture of the Church, will be culminated by the revelation of Jesus Christ..." Many still buy the Rapture Cult originated lie that this dispute is simply a question of timing -- so 'why can't we all just agree to disagree in love, etc.' This deadly dialectic of consensus seeking is what the Cult has built their house upon, as opposed to the absolute non-negotiable commitment to the truth that SCRIPTURE mandates. Those that have seriously studied the issue recognize that the underlying theology of Bay and the multitudes of "the blind leading the blind" is critical in that it delineates the very definition of who is genuinely saved under the confirmed covenant of Jesus Christ. David Bay seems to sense that he's missing a substantial part of the market, so lately he's been trying to play both sides -- as evidenced by this statement: "We believe in the pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church. However, we believe it highly likely that we will see the appearance of the Antichrist, with our Rapture occurring shortly thereafter. Our hope and prayer is that this ministry will be allowed to function for a long time after the Rapture of the Church....this scenario is highly likely, since our http-server is a Christian organization, and will not be shutting us down shortly after the Rapture. What an exciting thought, that tens of millions of people might be able to access our Site after the Rapture to learn of the truth of the Antichrist and of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!" The inconsistencies in these statements positively abound. One of the fundamentals of the Rapture Cult is that, in the dispensational system, the believers would never see the Antichrist. You're either in the tribulation for the duration, or you're not. The fact that this faulty system has clouded the reasoning processes of this Cult teacher is also self evident in his ridiculous assertion that his internet provider is comprised of "Christians," so even if he's raptured, they "will not be shutting us down shortly after the Rapture." This one boggles the mind with yet another torrential flood of double-minded thought. If Bay's Internet provider is comprised of Rapture Cultists, since they would theoretically be raptured along with Bay and company, how could they be in a position to continue his internet nonsense if the pre-trib rapture occurred? If they were "Christians" as Bay states, then wouldn't they have been raptured as well? On the other hand, if Bay's Net provider-Christians are not Rapturists, then why would they propagate this nonsense in the first place? The pre-tribulation rapture is a fiction as we've repeatedly demonstrated through a multitude of Bible studies, but that's beside the point. The point is, the confusion emanating from the Rapture Cult is rising. The bottom line is the WORD of God is very plain on the subject of compromise with those "Who changed the truth of God into a lie" (Romans 1:25). The Cult teachers are all false prophets "for the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain...." (Zechariah 10:2). Anticipating the lies of the Rapture Cult, Jeremiah wrote "....they prophesy a lie unto you. For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, ye they prophesy a lie in my name....that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you." (Jeremiah 27:14,15) While it is self evident that most so-called "believers" are not destined to respond to this call to a Scriptural sanity, for the sake of the very few that might, we continue to labor. Let us be very unambiguous about what we are saying here. The Rapture Cult system is the doctrine of the Antichrist. It teaches that the lost are saved, and the saved are lost. It interprets verses dealing with Jesus Christ, and applies them to the Antichrist. In short, the Rapture Cult (and false prophets like David Bay) will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire for their apostasy.
