Eclipsing The Sun God

n these dangerous last days, disinformation on prophecy is rampant. It seems like competing views are everywhere, and significant confusion reigns. While we believe the Bible is the final source for all of our answers, it's also useful to study just how the religion of Israel and Christianity has unfolded.

In this regard, Richard Rives is an archaeologist who has spent the last 20 years studying how the universal worship of the Sun God is found in every ancient heathen religion. The one exception was Israel.

The Scriptures and archaeological research actually dovetail, as the "stones and bones" of historical research show the six kingdoms that opposed Israel, all seen in the Old Testament, were all followers of the Sun God. These kingdoms are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome.

The Six Sun God Kingdoms

Many don't realize the huge significance of several New Testament statements that reference this. For example, when Yeshua addressed the Samaritan woman at the well, he spoke metaphorical of these six devilish empires when he told the woman he knew of her marital history:

"The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou has well said, I have no husband: For thou has had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidist thou truly." (John 4:17,18)

Although this is a literal historical interaction, the woman also allegorically represents the wife of YHWH who has committed adultery with six others (representing Sun God kingdoms), and she is now confronted by the LORD who is bringing in the Kingdom of God – which is, of course, the seventh kingdom.

Because the Rapture Cult doctrine has so thoroughly leavened the prophecies of the Kingdom of God, few recognize this synchronizes precisely with Daniel 2, where the last four of the six Sun God kingdoms (Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome) are described. Because they follow the first two Sun God kingdoms of Egypt and Assyria chronologically, these last four are Sun God kingdoms numbers 3,4,5, and 6.

Once again, this makes the Kingdom of God the seventh, the kingdom of the Sabbath rest of Yeshua. Thus, the fact that God's kingdom is the seventh is predicted in the book of Daniel. After prophesying the rise of the kings of Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome, Daniel tells us

"And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed…." (Daniel 2:44)

This provides us with a profound glimpse into the Sabbatarian nature of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross.

The Sun God Has Many Names

As Richard Rives discovered the incredible connection between each ancient pagan kingdom, he published an amazing book entitled Too Long In The Sun, which details the progression of how each version of the Sun God became the primary deity in each of the heathen dominions. Although many have read this stunning work, many other believers still refuse to examine the historical data.

Because this information is so important, in an effort to bring the truth to a broader audience, Richard also produced a series of DVD's based on the book, and these videos show the history of the Sun God worship in amazing detail. These television programs provide a conclusive and authoritative look at how the worship of the Sun God infiltrated old Israel, and the young Christian church.

We've learned that believers are usually offended for one of two reasons when they learn of this material. Either they feel we're being critical of Israel by revealing how the heathen practices were embraced by the family of Jacob, or they resent the data that shows the same thing happened to the church. The fact is, the ancient warnings of YHWH through Moses were largely unheeded by Israel and the Christians:

"…if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth." (Deuteronomy 28:1)

This stern admonition is but one of many, but the primary point was God insisted on His people being separate from the nations that surrounded them, and each of those nations followed the Sun God and the host of heaven:

"Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves…Lest ye corrupt yourselves…and lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them…" (Deuteronomy 4:15,19)

The Eclipse Of The Sun God

Although we all know that signs and wonders in the heavens are directly related to things occurring in the Spiritual realm, most prophecy teachers have missed the significance of the sign that occurred at the death of Jesus Christ.

Because Satan is the real intellect behind each of the heathen deities, it is clear it was the Devil who was defeated through Christ's work at the cross. However, it is precisely at the death of the LORD where that we see the sign showing the "Sun God" (read Satan) has lost the fight, and Jesus is victorious:

"And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the the midst." (Luke 23:44,45)

As Jesus establishes the kingdom of God, the seventh kingdom prophesied to occur, the heavens signified the defeat of the Luficerian worship of the Sun God kingdoms through the eclipse of the sun.

This is actually a profound understanding, for when we factor in the parallel kingdoms found in the New Testament era, we see the entire cycle has repeated itself. In prior studies, we've shown how the six ancient kingdoms, those that worshiped "the host of heaven," are paralleled after the cross in a striking
symmetrical prophetic repetition.

Prophetic Parallels

In sharp contrast to the fraud put forth by the Rapture Cult and other misguided prophecy intensive groups, the four kingdoms of Daniel 7, the lion, bear, leopard, and diverse 4th beast, are not Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. They are instead parallel kingdoms in the Christian era. The lion is the British
Commonwealth, the bear the Soviet Union. The leopard was Nazi Germany, and the diverse 4th beast is America – the parallel to the ancient Roman Empire.

Paralleling Egypt and Assyria (kingdoms one and two of the ancient six followers of the Sun God) we find the original Holy Roman Empire, and Imperial Spain. This means the modern six kingdoms that still retain fidelity to the Sun God are Rome, Spain, England, Russia, Germany, and America.

In prior studies, we've shown the 6, 7, and 8 cycle in which the 6th kingdom (pre-Christian Rome) is blended with the 7th kingdom (the kingdom of God) to produce the 8th kingdom, the "Holy" Roman Empire. This is the synthesis of the two preceding kingdoms, or as Revelation puts it, "the eighth…is of the seven" (Revelation 17:11). This 8th "head" or "king" also inaugurates a new cycle (the 8th day is the first day of the new week, etc), so "Christian" Rome begins the cycle again. It's important to realize that after Christ's work on the cross symbolically eclipses the sun, it is the Roman church that re-installs the spirit of the "Sun God through the papist notion of a change of the Sabbath.

It also means that a parallel may be found in Daniel's 2nd chapter wherein a profound work of God will occur after the last four kingdoms have arrived. Remember, the prophecy says

"And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed…." (Daniel 2:44)

Although the Kingdom of God was "set up" during the ancient Roman Empire, a parallel repetition is scheduled to occur after Britain, Russia, Germany, and America (paralleling Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome) rise and fall – in other words, NOW!

Another Eclipse

We may also note the prophetic pattern is scheduled to run all the way through the reign of the Antichrist. As the tribulational events fall upon the world during the last period of world history, we find the Beast will see his kingdom plunged into darkness:

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood…" (Revelation 6:12)

This is simply a striking perspective, for with this verse, we see the symbolic repudiation of the Sun God system continues right up to the very end of human history. Further, after the final conflict has run its course, we find that New Jerusalem will be forever lightened by the glory of God:

"And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof" (Revelation 21:23).

There is much more to these wonderful prophecies, but for now we will comfort ourselves with the knowledge that

"…the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed [us], and shall lead [us] unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from [our] eyes." (Revelation 7:17)
