Libyan Rebels Sold Hezbollah And Hamas Chemical Shells

he DebkaFile media source has alleged that senior Libyan rebel "officers" sold Hezbollah and Hamas thousands of chemical shells from the stocks of mustard and nerve gas that fell into rebel hands when they overran Muammar Qaddafi's military facilities in and around Benghazi, Libya. Word of the capture touched off a scramble in Tehran, and among the terrorist groups it sponsors, to gain access to these  unconventional weapons.

The story goes on to state that the rebels offloaded at least 2,000 artillery shells carrying mustard gas, and 1,200 nerve gas shells for a cash payment amounting to several million dollars. US and Israeli intelligence agencies are said to have tracked the WMD consignments from Eastern Libya as far as Sudan in convoys secured by Iranian agents, and Hezbollah and Hamas guards. They are not believed to have reached their destinations in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, apparently waiting for an opportunity to get their deadly freights through without the US or Israel attacking and destroying them ...

Editor's Note: Although some believe the DebkaFile media is an Israeli propaganda asset, the possibility the story is true compels us to print it. In the past, this particular media has issued accurate reports, particularly of a military nature. A big question would be why would Libyan rebels, locked in mortal combat with a well equipped Qadaffi run military, sell weapons they could use when the going inevitably gets rough?

On the other hand, war profiteering is a very old pursuit, and many, many people would sell out their own cause for the money. Further, in view of recent credible reports that Iran was attempting to move very dangerous military materiel into Lebanon and Gaza via the naval route from Syria, it's hardly implausible to think that Iran would finance such a weapons purchase.

The bottom line is, the military confrontation throughout the Middle East is still building to a crescendo, and the inevitable (and unthinkable) will occur when the Islamic republic of Iran makes their final move to take Jerusalem.
